self portrait talk

This project was the most challenging, engaging, fun, annoying, frustrating, time consuming project yet. I chose the photo that I did because I hate being in photographs and I love my kids so this worked great: less me, more Zander. I didnt think when I chose this that it was a stupid thing to do because it has 2 faces in it. Everyone else in class only has 1 face in theirs. So it apparently didnt occur to me that twice the number of faces = twice the work = twice the time. I spent 2 full class periods on it and I spent over 8 hours working on it at home.
So I had most of zander done from working in class. Downloaded the trial of AI on my pc at home thinking that it would the same as the one at school, like photoshop is......No. Majority of the fonts I used were replaced when I loaded it on the pc. I had to get creative with it I guess you could say. I ignored the parts that I had done in class that were all messed up and finished the rest of the work with fonts on the pc. The new work, of course wouldnt load right on the Mac at school. I opened both versions in photoshop and combined them to make it look like it should and then loaded the jpeg from there into AI and here we are! whew!
I chose the pokemon font because my boys love pokemon so it fit them and the other fonts were all chosen because they fit my needs for certain lines. I am happy with Zander, especially his hair, but the eyes are too dark when printed so I would like them lighter. I am not happy with the other half of it. The photo is hard to make out in the eye area so it doesnt look right and the eyes are way too dark. The teeth look funny and whole thing is very much overshadowed by Zander. I spent so much time on him that I didnt have enough time to take as much care with myself and Kaiden's arm. Overall I am satisfied for now.
